چکیده

Abstract Blue phosphorene (BlueP) is a novel two-dimensional material that shares properties with black and potentially even more interesting for opto-electronic applications because of its layer dependent wide band gap ≈ 2 to 3 eV superior charge carrier mobility. It was first fabricated on Au(111), where, however, network consisting BlueP subunits Au-linker atoms formed. The physical such an arrangement strongly differ from freestanding monolayer. Here, we report the growth epitaxial Au(100) surface, which alternative when aiming at quasi-freestanding domains. We find two different phosphorus phases by means scanning tunneling microscopy distortion-corrected low-energy electron diffraction. In low coverage regime, observe commensurate (2 × 2) phase, whereas higher coverage, nearly hexagonal structure For latter, lattice parameters measured via atomically resolved hydrogen closely resemble those BlueP, typical height modulation verified in our layers x-ray photoelectron further analyze chemical electronic these films (angle resolved) ultraviolet spectroscopy.

Electronic properties of blue phosphorene/graphene and blue phosphorene/graphene-like gallium nitride heterostructures.

Blue phosphorene (BlueP) is a graphene-like phosphorus nanosheet which was synthesized very recently for the first time [Nano Lett., 2016, 16, 4903-4908]. The combination of electronic properties of two different two-dimensional materials in an ultrathin van der Waals (vdW) vertical heterostructure has been proved to be an effective approach to the design of novel electronic and optoelectronic ...

Few-layer Phosphorene: An Ideal 2D Material For Tunnel Transistors

2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have attracted a lot of attention recently for energy-efficient tunneling-field-effect transistor (TFET) applications due to their excellent gate control resulting from their atomically thin dimensions. However, most TMDs have bandgaps (Eg) and effective masses (m(*)) outside the optimum range needed for high performance. It is shown here that the newl...

Phosphorene: an unexplored 2D semiconductor with a high hole mobility.

We introduce the 2D counterpart of layered black phosphorus, which we call phosphorene, as an unexplored p-type semiconducting material. Same as graphene and MoS2, single-layer phosphorene is flexible and can be mechanically exfoliated. We find phosphorene to be stable and, unlike graphene, to have an inherent, direct, and appreciable band gap. Our ab initio calculations indicate that the band ...
